Caring for Your Maylohas
Care by Material Maylohas jewelry uses different materials and finishes depending on the design, including stainless steel, gold PVD plating, gold-plated brass, freshwater pearls, natural gemstones and shell. Please check each product page for the exact composition of your piece.
The Golden Rule Put your jewelry on last and take it off first. This helps limit unnecessary contact with cosmetics, moisture and chemicals.
Daily Care
- Keep it Dry When Possible: Remove jewelry before showering, swimming or exercising, especially gold-plated pieces and designs featuring pearls, gemstones or shell.
- Avoid Chemicals: Apply perfumes, hairsprays and lotions before putting on your jewelry. Avoid prolonged contact with chlorine, cleaning products and other harsh chemicals.
- Wipe After Wear: Gently wipe pieces with a soft, dry cloth to remove skin oils and dust. Treat pearls and natural stones gently and avoid abrasive cleaners.
Storage Store pieces separately in a dry place to help prevent tangling, scratching and unnecessary surface wear.
Natural Materials Freshwater pearls, gemstones and shell can vary naturally in shape, surface, color and pattern. These variations are part of each piece’s individual character.
